Lesser Black-backed Gull (graellsii) 4cy K.KAB April 14 2012, Kelderhuispolder - Texel, the Netherlands. Picture: Maarten van Kleinwee.

Ringed as pullus in June 2009 at Kelderhuispolder - Texel, The Netherlands. Sex: unknown. Fourth-calendar year Lesser Black-backed Gull in fourth-cycle plumage. Apart from the black markings on the primary coverts, this individual is indistinguishable from adults.
This is the first observation of this individual in the colony this year; it is likely that it is only prospecting the area and that it will not start breeding until next year.
