Lesser Black-backed Gull 2CY, June 18 2017, Utrecht, the Netherlands.
Bird not ringed, no provenance on origin. Intermedius type 2CY bird.
Advanced post-juvenile moult on the wintering grounds. All scaps and wing-coverts replaced, as well all the tertials. Moult continued in rectrices (except R5-R6 right and R6 left) and inner secondaries. Outer secondaries and (probably all) primaries remained juvenile. 2nd gen feathers most with simple pattern, or actually hardly any pattern, just a darker shaft streak.
Bird migrated north in spring and now complete moult started: P1/P5, P1 and P2 also growing.
