A wing stretching sub-adult michahellis showing:

  • An all white tail, as in adults. The inner rectrices have been replaced recently and the outer rectrices are still old;
  • Old secondaries: grey centres with white tips as in adults, but with black centres in the outer secondaries, visible now the greater coverts have been shed;
  • The primary moult stage: Old P8-P10 with white mirrors on both P9 and P10. P1-P5 new, P6 growing and P7 missing.
