Photo 14: LBBG sub-adult?, September 2 2001, ECT parking Maasvlakte, the Netherlands.

Primary moult stage: p8 -p10 old and p5 full-grown. Almost all the inner and central greater coverts have been shed, exposing the secondaries, which are at least third generation. The secondaries show a brownish hue, just as other old feathers in the scapulars and coverts. Together with the obvious pale brown outer lesser coverts, this may be suggestions for immaturity. The bare parts are typical for adult LBBG.
