Photo 9: LBBG adult, September 2 2001, Brouwersdam, the Netherlands.

P7 to p10 are still old and note the extensive gap from p6 down. P2 is full-grown, p3 is halfway. The primary moult score is remarkable low, only 17, while p6 has been shed. P10 has a relatively small mirror and the tips on p7-p10 are worn away. The white parts of the primaries lack pigment and wear away faster than the pigmented black parts.

The inner two greater coverts have been shed, #3-4 have been moulted and the outer medians are currently growing. The inner three medians are missing. The upper tertial is missing, tertial #2 is growing.
Note the all-grey outer primary coverts, one of the best indications for adultness.
