LBBG 2cy E557 November 02 2002, Westkapelle, the Netherlands.

A second winter bird with a Dutch ring: E557, born at Maasvlakte, the Netherlands and ringed as pullus at the nest on July 01 2001. A pretty straightforward 2cy bird with almost all the scapulars replaced for third generation grey feathers ( except a few abraded feathers in the lower region). E557 has the tail completely second generation  and all remiges renewed as well. In the partial wing-covert moult of last months the following feathers are included: greater covert #2, median coverts #2 (still growing), #4, #6 and #8 (still missing), lower lesser coverts #3, #8 and #13. A few upper lesser coverts have a slightly greyish hue but these featehrs may just be the last moulted coverts in the complete moult last summer. Tertials #1-2 are replaced as well, although #2 is not fully grown yet. All other coverts are of the "barred type", and second generation.
