LBBG PP4 5cy, May 12 2001, Dintelhaven Maasvlakte, the Netherlands.

Ringed PP4 left green. Ringed at the nest at Maasvlakte June 28 1997, now in it's 5cy ( 4th summer). PP4 is an example of LBBG grown up along the coast (Maasvlakte) and showing inland dispersion; it was seen feeding near Woerden, the Netherlands (inland), May 31 1998. Some immature LBBGs (like first summers) strangle along the coast, others feed mainly inland. In the tertials and some of the coverts a brown hue is visible.

LBBG PP4 6cy, April 22 2002, Dintelhaven Maasvlakte, the Netherlands.

This bird returned year 2001 & 2002 at the colony, roughly at the same spot (within 20 meters of the spot it occupied last year).
Note that the black spot on the upper mandible, still present in May last year, has gone now already by April.

LBBG PP4 6cy, July 14 2002, Dintelhaven Maasvlakte, the Netherlands.

P1 is still present. Ringed as pullus on June 24 1997. PP4 raised two young in year 2002, which can be viewed in the juvenile section of July.

LBBG PP4 7cy, June 02 2003, Dintelhaven Maasvlakte, the Netherlands.

PP4 returned again to the exact same spot it occupied last year.
PP4 has a red orbital ring, a clear yellow iris without speckling, no black on the bill and the red gonydeal spot is confined to the lower mandible.
It is probably a male (code M0), based on jizz. The mirror on P10 almost merges with the white tip and all primaries are still present by early June.
