A more advanced individual than the previous Norwegian intermedius. SVS 8106930, from Yttre Tistlarna, SW Sweden (57.31 N, 11.44 E), has replaced all scapulars and nearly all wing coverts on the wintering grounds; note however that many greater coverts in the left wing still are juvenile. Not all intermedius are small and have a slender build: this bird is comparable to many graellsii. On average, the new scapulars and wing coverts are rather plain, except for the inner median coverts. The axillaries and underwing coverts are rather plain pale-brown with only limited white markings.
