Great Black-backed Gull (Larus marinus) sub-adult, February 04 2002, IJmuiden, the Netherlands (52.27 N, 4.33 E).

In many respects this resembles an adult bird. Nevertheless, some immature features can be see as the well-developed bill-band, the brown old coverts, scapulars and especially lowest tertials.
