Compare the primaries: brown and pointed juvenile feathers in the graellsii/intermedius in the back, black and rounded second generation feathers in the putative fuscus. A 'barred' plumage is not very uncommon in fuscus, but it is seen much more frequently in western birds. Although likely to be a pure fuscus, theoretically birds like this could represent intergrade intermedius x fuscus and in our view they are better not considered.
